Collapsing Drums is an independently run label and radio platform dedicated to experimental and off-centre approaches to sound and music. It’s scope is broad — from conceptual sound art works to unorthodox bands.
Originally founded during lockdown in 2020 as a vehicle for Behrens’ own sound practice, the label has since grown to platform distinct voices through hand-embellished cassette editions, lathe cuts, and digital-only mixtapes (on listen.camp). Its events and broadcasts aim to create space for the unpolished, the urgent, and the overlooked.
Later in 2025, Collapsing Drums will release an expansive cassette compilation featuring a number of artists championed on the listen.camp radio show, with launch events at London’s Café Oto and Bristol’s Cube Microplex.
